  • six days of instruction (workshop and curating the exhibition) and the exhibition costs.
  • a group exhibition at the Bridgeport Art Center, Gallery 3, Chicago
This workshop brings together two seasoned, professional artist instructors that work with abstraction. Both are focused on material, luminosity, space and color. Jeff is interested in the intersection of architecture and the natural world; Lisa looks for metaphor through mark-making and color.
The overall theme of this class is drawing and how it relates to your work regardless of your medium preferences. Particiapnts may work in painting mediums (oil, encaustic, acrylic), sculpture, or printmaking and we will discuss how drawing can inform your work from both a formal and conceptual perspective.

In this six-day workshop we will focus on each individual participant’s work, fine-tuning content and technique while also creating drawings as a reference and springboard for your work. Brainstorming sessions will provide the opportunity to strengthen your creative intention. Individual work will be reviewed and studio practices discussed that help each artist further their professionalism in the art world. The exhibition gives participants the experience of curating and hanging their work.

Before and during the class, you will create in your medium of choice. Each artist will send two pieces to show in the exhibition. The ship dates to the studio will take place in June and July. We will talk about the specifics during our Zoom conference meetings.
